Switching travel nurse agencies is a lot like buying or selling your home. It’s usually a
pain, there’s always tons of paperwork, and in the end, it’s usually worth it all financially and personally.
Here are a handful of reasons why travel nurses may choose to change staffing agencies, or even go it alone as in independant contractor (IC):
- Your favorite travel nurse recruiter left the agency, and you’re stuck with someone who doesn’t know what they’re doing.
- Your travel nurse agency doesn’t have positions with the hospitals or areas you
want to work in. - Your travel nurse agency was absorbed by a larger company and you feel like you’re lost in the shuffle.
- A nurse recruiter from a competing agency is offering you better perks, better pay, or even better -BOTH!
Whatever your reasons are for swithing agencies, you should be well prepared for the paperwork that’s involved with this type of transition. If you procrastinate with something like this, you’re only adding stress and pressure to your already busy life. The sooner you switch to a new agency or become a Travel Nurse independent contractor, the sooner you can get the assignments you want.
