Travel Nurse with X-raysCalifornia State University now offers a fast track program to a B.S. in Nursing for nurses. Will this fast track nursing program guide new nurses into a career as a travel nurse?

In an effort to keep a supply of new nurses flowing into the medical system, California State University has introduced an accelerated BSN program. The program allows students who already hold a Bachelor’s degree to earn a B.S. in Nursing in a year and a half. The program is an intenseive one, and requires a full-time school schedule. Those seeking a career change, or those who are looking for a chance to see the country as a travel nurse can make it happen and become a degreed nurse in half the time it usualy takes.

This is just one example of the new ways states are addressing the nursing shortage. This shortage of nurses is an issue not just in California, but in the rest of the United States and is feeding the travel nurse industry seemingly countless opportunities. It also takes a dedicated individual with high standards and a passion to succeed to make a commitment to a nursing program like this. More schools should adopt this approach resulting in an expedited training program for qualified nurses who could go on to a lucrative career as a travel nurse. I’m sure that nurses coming out 0f this program will view the travel nurse life as a viable and profitable option once they gain adequate experience.
